J'Adore Bastille Day!

Who doesn’t love Bastille Day? No one doesn’t love Bastille Day, that’s who. Not only is Bastille Day an excuse to wear your most questionable of fashions and get chocolate wasted on a vat of red wine, you, but you can enjoy a day of all that is wonderful about France. more...

Flirt with French Love at 2010 Bastille Day Los Angeles Festival

The Bastille Day Los Angeles Festival promotes the French heritage and culture, and celebrates the undying ties between French and American citizens. In France, Bastille Day commemorates the storming of the Bastille in 1789, marking the beginning of the French revolution. In Los Angeles, the event is one of the most attended community festivals and has been since its inception. The idea of great French food, music, art, dance, people, and the summer’s sun all together for one day to celebrate France’s Independence is a beautiful idea… and Angelenos agree, eight years and growing. more...

Bonne Bastille!
Angelenos love celebrating independence days. We wander across town on the Fourth of July crashing barbecues and sniffing out the place to buy any and every type of firework, from sparklers to M80s. While dads cook up hot dogs and hamburgers (organic, of course), we light off fireworks until kingdom come. Moms make sure to dial 9 – 1 and keep their finger on the 1 while knowing full well alcohol and explosives don’t mix. more
